2008 WINNERS: Sakhile Radebe, Mxolisi Mthembu, Nkululek Hlope From Domino Sevite School. The learners won a first year engineering bursary, an overseas trip focusing on visiting Engineering companies and AutoCad software.

Nkululeko, "I was encouraged to learn more about Engineering and to contribute towards
improving Engineering in South Africa"
Mxolisi "I found the sophisiticated structure and geometrical shape of the gherkin, to be an engineering challenge, It is seldom that one sees such engineering diversity from the very old to the modern so close together in South Africa. To see the evolution of architecture really opens the mind".
WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY; Sphamandla; " I was flabbergasted to see how South African Engineers apply their knowledge in building such
a big and fascinating airport." ( the King Shaka Airport in Tongaat)
Hlonipani; "I enjoyed the HUGE trucks that Bell Equipment are
manufacturing".
Moses; "I learnt about company management at Bell"
Sakhile, " What a wonderful experience we had at Lotus, especially driving fast around the track. I also realised that it is not only about being fast on the track, but also about the design and engineering behind it. Without Mechanical Engineers and designers, Lotus would not be able to produce such magnificent cars".
